World Suicide Prevention Day 2024 in Berlin

On World Suicide Prevention Day on September 10, people around the world come together to create a world in which fewer people die by suicide.

This year, we are focusing on suicide prevention for men. Sadly, 297 men have recently taken their own lives in Berlin, accounting for around two thirds of all suicides in the city. This shocking statistic demostrates how urgent it is to break the silence and promote a culture of openness, understanding and support.

Starting at 12 noon, Berlin’s suicide prevention network will be presenting its help services at information stands on Breitscheidplatz. Network partners can register for an information stand here.

We are delighted that the German Minister of Health, Prof. Dr. Karl Lauterbach, has taken on the patronage of the event.

We look forward to seeing you!
